“Yoga is the relationship that is built between the body, the mind and the breath. Yoga is creating a space free from obstacles in your own body to live. Yoga is freedom and release. I am here to help others find this release so that they can comfortably and competently move their bodies through life.”

DawnMarie’s personal practice began 19 years ago. She has coached high school students and athletes, teaching them yoga as a means to reduce stress, improve performance and prevent injury. DawnMarie has given private and group instruction to teens and adults in physical fitness and well-being, basic nutrition, running and yoga.

As a therapist, DawnMarie’s focus is on the individual and how to best fit the practice of yoga to the individual’s life. This became profoundly personal to her after a 2009 spinal surgery that left her bedridden and immobilized in a partial body cast for six weeks. She left her tenure as a high school teacher to devote her life to the service of others in need of relief and reconstruction, mentally, spiritually and physically, as she once did.

She specializes in yoga prep for beginners, injury recovery, anxiety, depression, back pain and chronic neuromuscular issues.

DawnMarie is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance, a Yoga Therapist through the International Association of Yoga Therapists, and a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. DawnMarie has studied under Larry Payne, for Yoga Therapy; Srivatsa Ramaswami, a direct student of T. Krishnamacharya, for Vinyasa Krama; and Sumit Banerjee, for Hot Fusion.
